E Komo mai to the Keikiali`i `Ukulele Club
Members get a wide variety of great `ukulele learning opportunities: basic fundamentals, understanding music with a cultural perspective, and feeling absolutely comfortable playing along with a group of other eager `ukulele enthusiasts. In addition, there are sing-a-longs, kanikapila, open mic nights where folks can display their hidden talents, and rare opportunities for question & answers about Hawaiian music with Kumu Hula, Kawika Alfiche, who is also a Hawaiian recording artist. One small affordable monthly club fee gets you in and you get it all. What an amazing way to connect with people from all over the world and their mutual love of `Ukulele and Hawaiian music. All classes and events are currently held via Zoom.
*`Ukulele Club Membership is $30 per month (includes unlimited classes). Membership fee is due on the first of each month sent to: paypal.me/kawikaalfiche or Venmo @kawikaalfiche.

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
`Ukulele 101: For first timers and people who feel like a first timer. `Ukulele fundamentals: what is a chord, what is tuning, what is my dog has fleas? We’ll break down different basics on `ukulele playing: simple strum, a couple of chords, and how to play a song.
Beginning `Ukulele: Let’s play Hawaiian music! You should take `Ukulele 101 and/or have a grasp of basic chords and single strum! You will utilize the skills you learned in `Ukulele 101.
Intermediate `Ukulele: For those who have a grasp for standard chords and simple strums, this 45 minute class is a good class to play and sing traditional and new Hawaiian songs.
Mele Hawai`i: Play and sing traditional Hawaiian Songs. Simple breakdowns of chords and strums, work on melody, `ōlelo Hawai`i (language), pronunciation and more! You must know basic chords for this class.
Pop through the Ages: This class will incorporate Oldies, Top 100 hits, Broadway, Country, and anything that’s been a hit in mainstream, or similar throughout the years (songs in English). Must know basic chords.
Mele Mexico: Learn a popular song in Mexico! Class taught in both English and Spanish. Must know basic chords.
Mele Tahiti: Learn a Tahitian song w/ Kumu Hula Māhealani Uchiyama! Must know basic chords.
Open Mic: Sign up and share a song!
Kanikapila Aloha Friday: This is for everyone to enjoy. The goal: Pour a drink, relax, play or sing along, hum if you can’t sing or just enjoy. This is not a mele or `ukulele class, it’s just a gathering to enjoy Hawaiian music and celebrate Aloha Friday. Special guests, games, talk story and fun, fun, fun!
